NAMI Washington County (“NAMI WC” or “we” or “us”), understands your concerns about the privacy of your personal information, how your information is used, and how your information is safeguarded when you make a donation to us. This policy will provide you with information related to our practices and procedures in relation to how the information requested is used within our organization. This policy applies to all information collected for donations that occur online and offline. This policy may be updated from time to time, so you may want to check this policy periodically for changes. The date this policy was last updated is stated at the end of this document. The Information We Collect from Donors:
Our donors voluntarily provide the personal information stored in our database. For example, if you choose to make a donation by clicking the “donate” button on our website, NAMI WC will collect (or such other website or venue will collect on our behalf) personally identifiable information, such as your name, email address, postal address, and payment information.
Any requests for the donation to remain anonymous will be honored. You may elect to not be acknowledged publicly for your donation by name and/or amount donated.
Payment Information:
Donations made through NAMI Washington County’s website are processed through a third-party payment processor – the information provided is only used to process the donation. If an individual chooses to make a recurring donation, then required payment information will be stored to facilitate future donations; otherwise, payment information will not be stored or used for any other purpose.
Unless stated below under “How We May Share your Information,” NAMI Washington County does not sell, rent, share, trade or otherwise make available the names and personal information of our donors with any other organization or entity. Additionally, we do not send emails to our donors on behalf of other organizations or entities.
All donations will be acknowledged. You should receive a thank you by mail or email, along with any required IRS documentation.
How We May Share Your Information:
NAMI Washington County does not share our list of donors with any other party unless noted below. NAMI Washington County works with a variety of third-party partners to collect and process donations. Except as stated, we do not reveal personally identifiable information about you to third parties for their independent use unless:
(1) it is necessary to allow NAMI Washington County and/or our service providers or agents to provide services on NAMI Washington County’s behalf, or
(2) it is necessary in connection with a sale of all or substantially all of the assets of NAMI Washington County or the merger of NAMI Washington County into another entity or any consolidation, share exchange, combination, reorganization, or like transaction in which NAMI Washington County is not the survivor, or
(3) otherwise as NAMI Washington County is required or permitted to do so for any or all of the following reasons: (i) to comply with a subpoena, legal process, government request or any other legal obligation, or (ii) to investigate or prosecute criminal offenses.
How We Use the Information We Collect:
Except as otherwise stated in this policy, NAMI Washington County does not share any personally identifiable information with un-related third parties. You have the option to update, revise, or have deleted any personal information shared with NAMI Washington County, as further specified herein. General Announcements and Promotions:
We will occasionally send information on special events, news, or opportunities. Out of respect for your privacy, we present the option to ‘unsubscribe’ and not receive these types of communications. Please see “Choose and Opt-Out.”
Newsletters:
If you are a member or have signed up to receive our newsletter, we will use your name and address to send it out by mail or e-newsletter, as you’ve requested. Out of respect for your privacy, we present the option to unsubscribe. Please see “Choose and Opt-Out.”
Other Mail/E-Mail Notifications:
You may choose to receive other types of mail/e-mail from NAMI Washington County, related to particular topics. You may control what mail/email you receive as described in opt-out section.
Membership-Related Announcements:
If you are a NAMI member, we will on occasions, send membership-related announcements. If you do not wish to receive them, you have the option to unsubscribe as noted below.
How We Protect the Information We Collect:
All donation transactions involving electronic payment are handled by Payment Card Industry (PCI)- compliant vendors. PCI refers to the technical and operational standards that businesses must follow to ensure that credit card data provided by cardholders is protected.
We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. However, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100 percent secure. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Browsers and Internet Security
If you have made your donation online, we use SSL technology to protect your information, as described in our online Privacy Policy. Every page is protected by an SSL certificate which uses 256-bit encryption. To support this technology, you need an SSL-capable browser.
You can tell if you are visiting a secure area within a web site by looking at the lock or key symbol in your browser address window. If the address of the page begins with “https:// “, it is secure. Occasionally, the page the data is entered on may not be secure, but submitting the information activates a secure connection and thus your data is submitted securely.

We provide several opportunities for you to control the amount of personally identifiable information you share with us and the use of that information:
Self-Service:
Each piece of mail or e-mail you receive from us will state the reason you are receiving the message. It will also contain a message about how you can opt-out or unsubscribe if you wish to no longer receive mailings from NAMI Washington County. This message is usually at the bottom of the document.
Other Means:
You should contact NAMI Washington County directly if you wish to be removed from any email or postal mailing lists or are unable to access any of the means explained under “Self Service” above. By continuing to donate to NAMI Washington County after changes become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised Donor Policy.
